Dear Blogger,

The biggest news in entertainment is the sudden death of Amy Winehouse at 27. She was so talented but so troubled. We kind of knew that this was going to happen sooner or later.

Most people would remember her for "Rehab". I remembered her much earlier than that. In early Y2K, when the music scene was caught up with the Norah Jones jazz craze, I remembered watching a music video of a younger, prettier, healthier Amy Winehouse without all those ugly tattoos on her body. I watched a lot of MTV and Channel V back then. I remembered her because of her unusual voice and a VJ described her as an edgier, darker Norah Jones.

She was promising back then. Then, she disappeared and now we know why. I believed she got into this mess because she fell into bad company. Her insane declaration of love to that Blake guy was very blinded. Everyone could see from a mile away what a loser he was. He was so obviously a bad influence to her. Still, we hoped that she would meet a better guy and straighten herself out.

Now that she has died for whatever reason, hopefully she's at peace with herself. Her consolidation is that she's with good company. She has joined greats like Kurt Cobain and John Lennon who died tragically.

So what can we learn from this? Drugs can kill. So does alcohol abuse. Ladies, avoid losers at all cost. Play with them all you want but never marry them. If you have problems if whatever nature, seek help. Pride won't save your life here.
