Part 2 of the "Greek Masterpieces" exhibition at the National Museum of Singapore. Now on till March 2008.
Ipy practising shooting with his digital camera
The guide book, activity book and entrance tickets
The banners outside the gallery
Ipy next to a poster of Ares (I don't know how anyone could focus on him when THAT is staring right out of the picture)
Ipy next to a poster of Aphrodite
Entrance to the gallery
Marble statues of ancient Greek women
Despite my liberated views of sex and nudity, I've never really been exposed to this much nudity in a room before! Did the ancient Greeks really walk around naked all the time? What puzzled me was, with all those chiseled body of Greek men on display, their in-your-face genitalia didn't appear proportionate to me somehow. I sort of expected them to be... bigger.
An athlete with a discuss
Front and back view of the god Ares
Marble statues of the beautiful but scandalous goddess Aphrodite
Aphrodite and Ares in the same room
Ipy figuring out how to play the ancient game of Backgammon
I won by the way
"The righteous man has nothing to fear, neither in life, nor in death, and the gods will not forsake him" - Socrates
That's the end of the "Greek Masterpieces" gallery, but not the end of our trail along Singapore's historical Civic District. More pictures very soon!
